When YAML cannot safely become JSON
A multi-document stream, explicit custom tag or a number that would lose precision may make JSON export unavailable. Keep your original source and inspect the stated reason. Quoted identifiers remain strings; converting to JSON cannot preserve YAML comments or the identity of reusable anchors.

Frequently asked questions
Can every YAML document become JSON?
No. Conversion requires one supported document. Multiple documents, explicit tags, unsafe numeric precision and excessive alias expansion can prevent JSON output. The editor shows a reason and leaves your YAML open for inspection.
Does JSON keep comments, anchors and aliases?
JSON preserves supported values, not YAML comments or anchor identity. Supported aliases may expand to ordinary values. Review the output before downloading a separate JSON copy; your YAML source remains open.
Does this task upload my YAML?
Conversion and comparison run locally without an account. Optional Assistance is separate and sends only the goal and selected context you explicitly include. Ordinary page requests still reach the host. See Privacy for storage and processing details.
What happens when I return or refresh?
Back to website and Resume keep this editor open in the same tab. Refresh opens the original inputs; matching source recovery copies require explicit review and Restore. Browser storage can fail or expire. Download important work separately.
